My research interests are in data science and AI broadly defined, and more specifically methods for data-driven sequential decision making, predictive modeling, reinforcement learning, and optimization under uncertainty with applications to healthcare, supply chain management, scheduling, and related areas. I have courtesy appointments in the School of Medicine, Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), the Rogel Cancer Center, and the Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation (IHPI) at the University of Michigan. My current research projects investigate new ways to use longitudinal data to improve decisions about the use of biomarkers, imaging, and medical treatment for early cancer detection and cardiovascular disease prevention.
