Research Overview
Drs. Lili Zhao (Biostatistics) and Gary Freed (Pediatrics) develop reliable, principled methods to detect true adverse events that arise due to vaccinations for children, so as to reduce the chance of sensational, headline-grabbing false positives. They use well-established consensus knowledge of adverse events and vaccine ontologies to uncover vaccine safety issues and identify the root cause of different types of adverse events.
