Research Overview
Drs. Oleg Gnedin (Astronomy) and Xun Huan (Mechanical Engineering) lead the team to create machine learning models based on data from numerical simulations of the early universe, identify the properties of quasar spectral features, and infer the distribution of matter in the universe. Their work will help researchers look into the nature of supermassive black holes, the most enigmatic objects in the universe.
