The speakers of this joint webinar both developed apps to help people in need. Ms. Hartman, together with her team, has developed the OncCOVID app which uses large, national cancer datasets to help assess the impact of delayed treatment for cancer patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. Mr. Griffin started the non-profit organization, FoodFinder, when he was in high school. During the pandemic, his app has been helping 3000 people to find food assistance programs near them every month. In this webinar they will present the science and the social impact of their work, which demonstrates how Michigan students (and alum) are using data and technology to make a difference.
