RSVP for pizza: Jamie Clay, jamboree@umich.edu Title: Predictive Big Data Analytics Abstract: Please come hear Dr. Ivo Dinov from the School of Nursing (Director of the Statistics Online Computational Resource, Associate Director of Education & Training for Michigan Institute for Data Science (MIDAS)) give a talk on predictive big data analytics on Thursday November 19th. This talk will be divided into three complementary parts: (1) Data Science fundamentals, (2) applications to neurodegenerative disorders, and (3) innovative approaches. The first part will include motivation and description of Big, Deep and Dark data. The second part will present some recent results in predictive big data analytics for a large-scale Parkinson’s disease study using model-based and model-free classification methods. In the last part, I will present the fundamentals of a Compressive Big Data Analytics (CBDA) theory for representation and inference of large and complex datasets. Presenter: Ivo D.
